PhD course in Matrix Theory, 9 credits,
Vehicular Systems

General information

A PhD course in matrix theory is given by Vehicular Systems, Department of Electrical EngineeringLinköpings universitet during fall 2012.

Course leader is Jan Åslund.

Course organization

The course is based around problem solving seminars where we meet and discuss the solutions.

Course content

Complex vector spaces. The spectral theorem for Hermitian and normal operators. Jordan canonical form and normal forms for matrix polynomials. Functions of matrices.

Examination

  1. Active participation in the problem solving seminars.
  2. Written solutions to a selected subset of the problems.
